Push notifications were never built to wake you up.
A chime, then silence
Even with iOS Critical Alerts on, an emergency notification is a two-second sound followed by up to thirty seconds of nothing. Gaps are what you sleep through.
A phone speaker is a phone speaker
Roughly what a phone manages at arm's length — before you account for face-down on a nightstand, under a pillow, or across the room on a charger. It was built to fit a pocket, not to move you from sleep to standing.
You find it in the morning
The alert fired. The move happened. You read about it over coffee, seven hours after the only moment it mattered.
Three minutes, once. Then never again.
Plug it in. Scan the screen.
ESTRA shows a QR code. Your phone camera joins it to your wifi — no app to install, no terminal, no settings to hunt through. A second code links it to your ESTRA account.
Paste one URL into TradingView.
Your dashboard gives you a webhook address. Drop it into the Notifications tab of any alert you already use. Works on as many alerts as you want.
Go to sleep.
When your alert fires, ESTRA fires. The screen shows the ticker and price so you know whether it's worth getting up before your eyes are fully open.
An alarm that does not stop on its own.
The alarm loops until you stop it, and it is deliberately intermittent rather than a steady tone. A continuous sound gets filtered out by your brain within about two minutes; the gaps are what keep it urgent on the four hundredth repeat.
It runs until you physically press the button. Not a swipe, not a tap through a lock screen you'll do half-asleep and forget.
Armed window
Set your sleeping hours. Outside them it stays silent, so a midday alert never makes you jump.
Cooldown
One chatty alert can't fire forty times. Repeats inside your cooldown window are suppressed.
Shows what fired
Ticker, price and time on screen. Decide whether to get up without reaching for your phone.
Volume you set by ear
Loud enough to wake you, quiet enough for an apartment. The screen dims overnight so it isn't a night light.
We know if it goes offline
Your unit checks in constantly. If it stops, your dashboard says so — a dead alarm can't tell you it's dead.
Daily proof of life
A short chirp every morning at a time you choose. If you stop hearing it, something needs fixing — and you find out at 8am, not 3am.
I trade NQ. My alerts fire in the middle of the night, and Pushover on my iPhone was not loud enough to wake me. I tried every setting. The problem wasn't the settings — a phone is the wrong device.
So I built the thing I wanted: a box on the nightstand that does exactly one job, loudly, and tells me when it's broken. That prototype is what sits on my nightstand. ESTRA is that build, made properly.

Do I need a paid TradingView plan?
Yes. Webhooks are not available on TradingView's free tier — Essential and above have them. That's TradingView's limit, not ours, and there's no way around it.
Will it wake up the person next to me?
Probably, the same way any alarm clock does. ESTRA is built to be an alarm at normal alarm volume, not a siren — it's designed for apartments. You set the level by ear during setup.
Will it ever miss an alert?
Yes, eventually. I am not going to pretend otherwise. For an alert to reach you, TradingView has to fire it, the internet has to carry it, my relay has to pass it on, and your wifi, your power and the unit all have to be working. That is seven links in a chain, and four of them are nobody’s to control. Across enough nights, something in it will fail.
What ESTRA does about that is tell you. The unit checks in constantly, and it chirps every morning at a time you pick. If the chirp stops, something is broken and you find out at 8am instead of at 3am. That is the honest version — not a guarantee, but a system built to fail loudly instead of silently. If an outcome genuinely matters, keep a second alarm. That is true of every alarm clock ever made.

Is there a subscription?
No. The relay that carries alerts from TradingView to your unit is included in the price, with no monthly fee. It costs me roughly thirty cents per device per month to run, and charging a subscription for that would be margin dressed up as a cost.
What happens if my wifi drops?
The unit reconnects on its own. If it can't, your dashboard shows it offline and the morning chirp stops — which is how you find out before it costs you a night.
Does it work with anything besides TradingView?
Anything that can send a webhook. Your own scripts, a broker integration, a monitoring tool. TradingView is what it's built and tested for.
Do I need to be technical?
No. Scan two QR codes and paste one URL. There's no app, no command line, and nothing to configure on your router.
Will it work on my wifi?
ESTRA connects on 2.4GHz wifi. Almost every home router broadcasts 2.4GHz and 5GHz under the same network name, so it joins yours with nothing to change. 2.4GHz also reaches further through walls, which matters for a device sitting in a bedroom away from the router. The only setups that need attention are the rare ones running a 5GHz-only network — if that’s you, email us before ordering and we’ll tell you straight whether it will work.
How does shipping work?
Nothing ships yet — ESTRA is not on sale. The plan is United States only at launch, posted from New York City, with a free standard option and a paid express option. Exact carriers, prices and delivery windows will be published here before anything can be ordered, and will be visible before you pay rather than after.
What happens if it doesn’t work for me?
The intended policy is 7 days from delivery for a full refund, in any condition, and I pay the return shipping — you cannot know whether an alarm wakes you without sleeping through a night with it.
