Terms of Use
Last updated 15 September 2026
This page covers using estra.live and joining the waitlist. It is not a purchase agreement, because nothing is for sale yet.
Read the reliability section before you rely on this product for anything. ESTRA is a consumer alarm clock. It is not a safety device, and it depends on several systems that can fail. That section is the most important thing on this page.
Who you are dealing with
estra.live is operated by Andrew Tessier, a sole proprietor in New York. There is no company behind it. Using this site means you accept these terms; if you do not accept them, stop using the site.
The waitlist is not an order
Joining the waitlist does not buy anything, reserve anything, or commit either of us to anything.
- No payment is taken and no payment details are collected.
- You are under no obligation to buy when ESTRA becomes available.
- I am under no obligation to sell to you, or to launch at all.
- Being earlier on the list does not guarantee you a unit.
The product is still being built
ESTRA is in development. What is described on this site reflects what I am building and what the working prototype does today. It is a description of intent, not a specification you can hold me to.
- The price is indicative. $200 is what I expect to charge. It is not an offer and it can change before launch.
- Images are renders, not photographs, unless labelled otherwise. The finished enclosure will differ.
- Features can change or be dropped. If something described here does not survive to launch, the site will be updated.
- There is no launch date. I have not committed to one and you should not infer one.
What ESTRA is not designed to do
ESTRA is a consumer convenience device. Do not use it as the only thing standing between you and a serious consequence.
It is not a medical device, a life-safety device, a fire or smoke alarm, a security system, or an emergency notification system. It is not certified for any of those uses and must not be used for them.
For ESTRA to wake you, every one of these has to work: your internet connection, your wifi, mains power, TradingView's servers, TradingView actually sending the webhook, my relay service, the device itself, and its speaker. Any one of them failing means the alarm does not sound. Some of those are not mine and none of them are perfect.
The device includes a daily self-test chirp so that a failure becomes visible to you in the morning rather than at three the next night. That is a genuine safeguard and it is the reason it exists. It is not a guarantee.
No guarantee is made that any particular alert will be delivered, or delivered on time. If you are trading on the outcome, treat ESTRA as one layer among several, not the whole system.
Nothing here is financial advice
ESTRA is hardware. It makes a noise when something you configured tells it to. It does not analyse markets, generate signals, recommend trades, or express any view about what you should do with your money.
Nothing on this site is investment, financial, tax or legal advice, and no representation is made that using ESTRA will improve your trading results or prevent losses. Trading futures involves substantial risk of loss. Your trading decisions are yours.
Disclaimer of warranties
ESTRA AND THIS SITE ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE”, WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND. TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, ALL WARRANTIES ARE DISCLAIMED, INCLUDING THE IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.
NO WARRANTY IS MADE THAT ANY ALERT WILL BE DELIVERED, DELIVERED ON TIME, OR THAT THE ALARM WILL SOUND ON ANY GIVEN OCCASION.
This is deliberately blunt rather than buried, because you should know it before you buy rather than discover it in a dispute.
What ESTRA depends on, and why alerts can be missed
ESTRA is not a closed system. For an alert to reach you, every link in this chain has to work:
- TradingView deciding your alert condition has been met
- TradingView actually sending the webhook, on time
- The public internet between TradingView and the relay service
- The relay service and the database behind it
- Your home internet connection and your wifi
- Mains power at your home
- The unit itself, its software, and its speaker
The full breakdown of every failure mode, and whose responsibility each one is, is on its own page. In short: links 1 to 3 are not mine and I have no control over them. Links 5 and 6 are yours. Any one of the seven failing means the alarm does not sound. Over enough nights, across enough users, some alerts will be missed. That is the honest expectation to have of this product, and it is why the device chirps every morning to prove it is still alive.
Do not make ESTRA the only thing standing between you and a consequence you cannot afford. If an outcome genuinely matters, keep a second alarm. That is true of every alarm clock ever made, and it is true of this one.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law:
- No liability for indirect or consequential loss. This specifically and expressly includes trading losses, missed trades, lost profits, lost opportunity, market movements you did not act on, and any loss arising from an alert that was late, undelivered, or not heard — whether or not I was told such loss was possible.
- Total liability is capped at the amount you actually paid for the unit giving rise to the claim, in the twelve months before the claim arose. For a waitlist signup, that amount is zero.
- This allocation of risk is part of the price. ESTRA is priced as a consumer device precisely because it does not carry the liability of a professional or safety-certified system. A product that guaranteed delivery would cost many times more, and would still not be a guarantee.
What is not excluded
Some things cannot be disclaimed, and pretending otherwise would put the rest of this section at risk of being unenforceable. Nothing in these terms limits liability for:
- Death or personal injury caused by negligence
- Fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation
- Gross negligence or wilful misconduct
- Any right you have under consumer protection law that cannot be waived by agreement
Some states do not allow the exclusion of incidental or consequential damages, so parts of this may not apply to you. If any part of this section is held unenforceable, the rest continues to apply.
Acknowledgement at purchase
Before any purchase you will be asked to confirm, by ticking a box that is not pre-ticked, that you have read why an alert might not reach you and accept the six points listed at the bottom of that page. Those points form part of these terms.
The short version, because it should not need a click: you are responsible for your internet, your wifi, your power, your TradingView subscription and your device settings. I am responsible for the device software and the relay service, and I will fix or refund failures caused by either.
Content and marks
The text, design, renders, logo and the ESTRA name on this site are mine. Please do not copy them for commercial use. The typefaces used are Archivo and JetBrains Mono, both under the SIL Open Font License; their licence files are published alongside them.
TradingView is a trademark of its owner. ESTRA is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to TradingView in any way. It simply receives webhooks that TradingView can send.
Acceptable use
Do not attempt to break into, overload, or interfere with this site or the relay service, and do not use the waitlist form to submit an address that is not yours.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, and any dispute belongs in the state or federal courts located in New York County, New York.
Changes
These terms can change. The date at the top will change with them. Material changes affecting waitlist members will be emailed, not quietly published.
